BRIXTON - LONDON

Plan B is a not hot, unless you like deep deep house...

Dogstar is a Hot, I've been to Brixton twice in recent months and I've always ended up in The Dogstar, this is a must visit venue.

26 Smithfields - Review on it's way.

Mash - 19 - 21 Great Portland Street, London W1W 8QB, Nr Tube Oxford Circus.

I walked past this bar and initially I thought it was some pretencious resturant but I couldn't see any table waiting staff but there were a fair load of people inside, so I went in to have a look. Very nice a spacious at the front, it opened out into quite a nice space, with funky semi-circle sofas, it was kinda swish.  I met up with my buddies and we decided to have a few in Mash. To be honest service was pretty slow which wasn't helped by a large large group of people hogging the bar area, so you had to fight to get to the front and get served, but I put that down to London arrogance, and that's coming from relocated Londoner. One thing that I thought was wicked was that at the far end of the bar they had a glass wall and behind that was what can only be discribed a brewing area. It looked different and kinda added character to the place. First round that was bought was a JD and Diet Coke and a Pint of house Lager.... cost £9.10... so you weren't gonna be getting drunk, but that said, I haven't been out in London for years and my guess is, that price is par of the course, maybe I should stop going to JD Weatherspoon Pubs.... I would say this a great place to start your evening as they do have a restaurant and the food prices looked reasonable.  I did notice from the corner of my eye they had a rather nice DJ set, I'd love to use the equipment they had set up. Out of 10, I'd give this place, bearing in mind I never ate or stayed for the DJ, 7 out of 10. Marked down due to drinks prices and some of the seats weren't ideal for us larger set people. It's a beautiful bar for beautiful people. Check out their website www.mash-bar.co.uk
